MRO Supply Clerk

Job Summary

The MRO Supply Clerk according to department needs, orders, receives, stores, and distributes parts and stocks of Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Sanitation Supplies by checking shelves and reordering standard items as required.  This position will allow the successful candidate to apply their knowledge, learn new skills, and work as a member of a dynamic team in a clean and safe environment. The maintenance supply clerk performs all duties safely and accurately.  Additionally, the candidate for this position will be motivated to grow with Palmetto Gourmet Foods, building a career for years to come. Flexibility with scheduled workdays and shift preferences is required.

Position Requires:

  • Ordering, receiving, storing, and maintaining stock and supplies according to departments need; 
  • Locating stock and delivering requested items to departments;
  • Reviewing order forms for accuracy and verifying supplies received against invoice and packing slips; 
  • Contacting approved vendors to reorder routine supplies and processes paperwork related to reorder requests; 
  • Performs routine clerical duties in support of the department

Maintenance Supply Clerk Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains supply inventory; verifies inventory levels by checking shelves, notifies supervisor as to replacement needs, or places orders appropriately
  • Orders receive, and stores supplies in the Maintenance shop or Q.A. and Sanitation supply room
  • Reviews incoming order forms for proper coding, quantities requested, and authorized approvals; inspects and verifies supplies received against invoice and packing slip; initiates requests for vendor corrections
  • Locates stock and delivers asked for items to authorized departments
  • Contacts approved vendors to reorder routine supplies; processes paperwork related to supply requests, including small purchase orders, purchase requisitions, and check recommendations
  • May maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) associated with purchases of chemical products
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
  • Performs clerical duties related to maintaining stock inventories and stockroom; may operate a computer terminal and personal computer
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and services ordering and inventory control
  • Ability to receive, stock, and deliver goods
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
  • Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds
  • The work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks, such as operating dangerous equipment or working with chemicals
  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises
